The National Executive plans to increase between now and 2019 inbound tourism with the entry into the country of more than one million 124 thousand tourists from abroad, which will rise significantly generating foreign exchange, said the deputy minister of National Tourism Azucena Jaspe.
Interviewed in the program Breakfast, broadcast by Venezolana de Television, Jaspe said the state recently finalized more than 10 letters of intent business with national and international investors to boost tourism infrastructure, gastronomy and Venetur hotel network.
He also stressed the democratization of credit portfolio for the sector, in which small and medium entrepreneurs for the development of community tourism, with the launch of inns, small restaurants and activities in major tourist destinations are included.
In this regard, he noted that to date have been granted through the banking credits for 5,000 million bolivars and tourism sector portfolio rose from 4.25 to 5.25% so far in 2016 and have been funded more than 743 projects in lodging with a view to incorporating 60,000 new places beds.
The deputy minister stressed that through the national and international investment will continue promoting destinations such as the state of Nueva Esparta, specifically the island of Margarita, Coche Island and the peninsula of Macanao, Aves Island, La Blanquilla, Canaima (Bolivar State ) and destinations Merida state.
