Given the insecurity that prevails in several municipalities in Tamaulipas, the Electoral National Institute INE authorized the release of 973 life insurance field staff, covering them for a figure close to 500 thousand pesos in case of death.

While the events of violence have not altered the organization of the electoral process, trainers and supervisors have lived some risk situations in Matamoros, Reynosa and Victoria.

Patricia Navarro Mancada, vocal training of electoral INE said the institute seeks care for possible means of these threats to its staff.

In February this year, in the middle of a shootout in Matamoros, staff training was returned to office.

No events have been against staff, it is clear, are situations that suddenly are recorded, where trainees are working, said the official.

The recruitment of 841 electoral trainers and supervisors included 132 delivering a life insurance 448 thousand pesos in case of death by accident. There is an additional insurance for the same field staff of 224 thousand pesos natural death.

The conditions of life insurance and major medical expenses can vary according to the insurance policies.

The risks are many, there are staff who suffer falls or fractures and when there were incidents of risk in some areas, we have asked the trainers to retire to another section to work, said Navarro Mancada.
